Welcome to the Side by Side website. We hope it will give you a useful overview of our school and nursery. Side by Side was originally created to allow children with special needs and those without to learn and play together in a nursery environment. Over the years we have expanded to become a three-form integrated nursery and a thriving special school. We are a learning community. In our school, parents, children and staff work as one to ensure that each child receives an expert, highly personalised education, yet also is a valued member of our busy, energetic and flourishing school community. We welcome all children - and not just the children. We are privileged to share their family lives, their joys and successes and we greatly value the close relationships we have built between our staff, our families, our professionals, our volunteers and our visiting teachers. Being a pupil at Side by Side is more than just attending school every day. It is an entry to a close-knit, loving, learning community that welcomes and values every single member. Our aim is that every person who has a contact with our school, however small, comes away feeling valued, heard and affirmed.
